A Way With Words provides basic literacy learning for Entry Level literacy, mapped against the subject areas in the QCA Standard for Basic Skills. Learning materials are provided for each of the identified Skill Areas within the course structure.

A Way With Words is designed to be used in conjunction with the Word Skills Check, which maps to the same course structure. Used together, these products provide a powerful tool for self assessment and effective, targeted learning. The learning materials make extensive use of audio, static images and Flash movies, to support the underpinning text. Learning is reinforced through the provision of interactive Activities for each Skill Area. These provide the learner with the opportunity to practise the skills that they have learnt. By organising the learning materials into self contained sections, the learner can dip into the materials and tackle as many sections as time permits. Progress tracking enables the learner to keep track of which sections have been visited and or completed.
