Are you ready to start studying towards the ECDL qualification (Syllabus 4)? If you are, this is the course for you.
The course consists of 3 elements – the 7 learndirect courses you need to complete the ECDL, Prepare for ECDL (Syllabus 4) course, and seven ECDL (Syllabus 4) Module Tests.
You can practise your new found skills by taking the regular consolidation exercises and assignments. Your tutor will give you encouragement and feedback.
If you need some practice with your keyboard skills you can also take Keyboard A-Z (KAZ) included in the course to improve your keyboard skills.

On completion of this course you will be able to:

• Use a computer.
• Word process simple documents.
• Create simple spreadsheets.
• Create simple databases.
• Create simple presentations.
• Understand the basics of the internet and email.
• Understand what the ECDL qualification is, who it is for and how it is structured.
• Identify your best next step in the ECDL.
• Identify the categories in the ECDL syllabus you do not fully understand.
• Identify the learndirect courses you need to learn in order to fully cover the ECDL syllabus.
• Understand the ECDL Modules 1 – 7.
Previous knowledge required:
You should have a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows, know how to use menus, dialogue boxes and enter text with the keyboard.
