This course will take owner managers and managers in business with up to twenty employees to a level where they can understand the implications and potential of using ICT more widely in their business. In addition, they will develop the knowledge and understanding to enable them to talk and negotiate with ICT suppliers and plan an ICT stategy for their business.

The course is arranged in seven modules, the first two of which focus on how ICT can improve business processes and support business objectives. The remaining five modules look at how ICT may be used in specific business activities such as administration, sales and marketing. All modules make extensive use of case studies.
Optional activities encourage learners to apply what they have learned to their own businesses. The modules are:
1) ICT in your business - how to get the most added value from the use of ICT in a business. 2) Planning to Use ICT - how to produce and implement a plan to use ICT to support business objectives. 3) Communications - how ICT can improve communications with suppliers, staff and customers. 4) Sales and Marketing - how ICT can improve sales and marketing. 5) Electronic Trading - how ICT can improve supplier and customer relations. 6) Business Efficiency - how ICT can improve project management, product development, order processing and training. 7) Administration - how ICT can improve financial management, payroll, banking and information mangagement. The training is on-line and includes audio, text, graphics and frequent interactive experiences. There are numerous hyperlinks to websites that can provide further help and information.
