Managing a budget and understanding finance are fundamentals you can't ignore in business. But if you've no experience of accounting or economics it can be difficult to make sense of them fast. This course has been designed to fill the finance knowledge gaps of non-financial managers. You begin by looking at the different types of financial information and how businesses are financed, focusing on the role of Accountant. The second module gives you skills to prepare and implement a budget for your team, knowledge of different types of costs and how cost centres work, and an understanding of how to build in overheads when you're working out the cost of producing a product or providing a service. Module Three familiarises you with balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow forecasts so that you can interpret the information they provide and manage working capital. The final module looks at the main techniques used to evaluate investment proposals and how to interpret them, along with the non-financial factors that can have a bearing on your decisions
