Everyday German Beginner Plus is an ideal course if you already have a basic knowledge of German. The course follows native speakers of German in real-life situations and focuses on practise and repetition of new grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. It gives you the skills and confidence to understand, speak and write more complex German effectively - whether it's booking a hotel room or writing a note for a friend.
Before enrolling on one of these courses you will need to discover which level is suitable for you. To help you do this learndirect have developed a German 'diagnostic quiz' to find out what you do and don't already know about the language. You can download it from this website but unfortunately the file is quite large and will take some time on a slow modem connection.
It takes about 40 minutes to complete the quiz and will then suggest which course you should start with. Don't worry if you find it a bit difficult - if you found it easy then you probably wouldn't need to do a language course at all! If you don't know the answer to any questions you can skip them but you need to reach the end of the diagnostic to receive your level.
